Brixton BID provides 80 days of additional cleaning annually to keep our streets clean. We are also working on initiatives and campaigns to tackle street urination.

A clean and healthy environment is important for everyone, but we know that it is crucial to the success and prosperity of businesses, that’s why Brixton BID invest in local greening projects including Brixton Orchard and the Barrier Garden.

8 million paper cups are thrown away in the UK everyday. In partnership with Hubbub and First Mile, we launched Brixton’s coffee cup recycling scheme set to convert 95% of cup waste collected back into paper and 5% of plastic for energy recovery.

Brixton BID launched Brixton’s first electric van in collaboration with ZipCar, Cross River Partnership and Lambeth Council. Free and exclusive for businesses in Brixton to use for their operational needs.

Brixton BID fund free bicycle checks and repairs by Dr Bike for employees, residents and visitors.
